Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of the Registrar exists to provide support services to students, faculty, and staff in their endeavor to fulfill the mission of the university. Responsibilities and activities included in these support services are to maintain and monitor the evaluation of undergraduate transfer credit for accepted transfer students. Also, responsible for articulating transient study and international study enroll and register student, certify enrollment status to outside agencies, to withdraw students from classes, to provide transcript services for students and alumni, to maintain student records, to process and verify student grades, to process student application for graduation, to maintain student biographic/demographic data, and to maintain the university course inventory file. The Registrar's Office is responsible for the integrity of the data on student's record as well as all other data needed to generate reports from the Student Information System Files.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Student Records Coordinator maintains and updates student records via the Student Information System in the Office of the Registrar. This position processes directed individual study, internships, as approved by Deans as well as adds and drops for the nonattendance/roll-verification policy and semester withdrawals. This position also manages transient study and transfer credit articulation for current students. The Student Records Coordinator will assist with student inquires overall as this position has a focus on customer service with heavy contact with students, faculty, staff, and general public.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience

  • Ability to complete complex academic tasks in a very busy office environment without compromising the accuracy of the transactions.
  • Good customer service and communication skills due to frequent heavy contact with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
  • Excellent data entry, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and accurately with all contacts regarding university academic policy is critical.
  • The ability to analyze academic situations and resolve or refer problems for resolution is needed. Keyboarding skills and familiarity with computer applications are helpful for success in this position.
  • Experience with student records and registration systems is desired, and strong Banner familiarity is preferable.
