Job Summary

Responsible for researching, evaluating, and determining IT standards and life-cycle management for PCs, laptops, operating systems, application software and other client facing technologies including Audio-Visual devices and peripherals. Manage a cross-campus team of IT support personnel who are responsible for the availability and function of campus IT hardware and software. Liaise with academic, administrative and operations departments and advise on unique technology requirements.


Essential Duties

Evaluate and set standards for PCs, laptops, tablets, Windows & Mac operating systems and other related technologies and peripherals used in classrooms and other areas of TCC.

Determine life-cycle strategies that help make the most efficient use of these technologies, from POC, to deployment through retirement. This includes the PC, Laptop and Apple computer lease refreshes that take place every 3-4 years.

Serve as the primary TCC interface for vendor relations of PC's, printers, classroom tech, and various software solutions.

Coordinate and deliver end user training for new technologies.

Partner with TCC Purchasing to ensure departmental technology purchases adhere to security and interoperability standards and guidelines.

Work with academic, administrative and operational departments to help them find solutions for their unique technology requirements.

Provide personnel management for IT Support Tech Supervisors, Support Systems Administrator, and provide leadership and guidance for 15 IT professionals.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent education in MIS, Computer Science, Business Management, Communications, or related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

3 years experience in a position of personnel supervision and leadership within an IT organization.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

3 years managing IT solution delivery to a large user base.

Ability to lift 25 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Management, Communications, or related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

Ability to interpret technical requirements and both recommend and coordinate implementation of both hardware and software solutions.

Ability to travel to each campus and support remotely as needed.

A+ certification.
