General Summary: The Pharmacy Practice Resident will complete one year of organized and directed postgraduate clinical and practice training in defined pharmacy and medical practice areas. The Pharmacy Practice Resident must meet the objectives and performance criteria for all rotations as outlined in the Pharmacy Residency Manual while applying a thorough understanding and knowledge of drugs and medical therapy. The Pharmacy Practice Resident is required to provide dispensing and clinical services in centralized, decentralized practice areas and communicate and consult with medical and hospital staff. They are responsible to monitor patient drug therapies for safety and appropriateness and provide drug information. The Pharmacy Practice Resident is supervised directly by a licensed clinical pharmacist on duty while training until District of Columbia (DC) pharmacy licensure is completed and verified. Staffing and rotation hours may be irregular and include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays on a limited and defined basis, following the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Duty-Hour requirements outlined for pharmacy residencies. Minimum Education and Experience:
Shift: Full-Time, Weekend Work required. 1-year program. Salary Range: Minimum 27.50 per hour - Maximum 27.50 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
