The Salvation Army Position Description Decatur, Illinois Corps Position Title: Decatur Food Services Supervisor Job Summary: Responsible for leading, organizing, and operating a commercial kitchen to serve a 24-hour Shelter, and various weekly meal programs to the community. Reports To: Corps Officer(s) Qualifications: The Food Services Supervisor is the nerve center of The Salvation Army's food services, coordinating all kitchen activities and overseeing the work of the culinary volunteers and staff. They are responsible for maintaining kitchen standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, planning menus, ordering supplies, and training new employees. A kitchen supervisor also plays a vital role in maintaining client relations and dealing with any kitchen-related complaints or queries. Candidates must have a passion for fulfilling the mission of The Salvation Army and must be articulate in presenting the same to others. Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver's license. Candidate must have a background in Cooking, nutrition, and/or hospitality services. Candidate must have all current Food handler certifications. Education:

Physical Demands/ Work Environment: This Position is required to do basic business and office work. To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the individual is regularly required to talk and listen, stand, walk, sit, and use hands. Individual must be able to regularly lift to 30 pounds and occasionally lift to fifty pounds. The use of Office and Computer Equipment is necessary. Vision abilities will require close vision.
