Job Summary:

Northeastern Illinois University is searching for one postdoctoral fellow for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a 12-month appointment and begins Monday, August 11th, 2025.

Job Description:

The focus of postdoctoral fellowship in Counseling Services involves the advancement of clinical and supervision skills, multicultural competency, and a professional identity as well as the accumulation of psychology licensure hours in Illinois. In addition, the postdoctoral fellow is encouraged to increase their professional independence and solidify their specialization in a university counseling setting. This is accomplished by joining the clinical team in a variety of activities, including:

  • Direct clinical services (intake, crisis intervention, and individual, couples and/or grouptherapy)

  • Provision of individual and/or group supervision as well as involvement with a training seminar and recruitment

  • Outreach and consultation to the university community

  • Clinical consultation

  • Individual supervision and supervision of supervision

Minimal Qualifications:

By the start date of the postdoctoral fellowship, the candidate must have a completed doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in Counseling or Clinical Psychology.

Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience in a college or university counseling center is desirable.

Salary Range:
The stipend for the postdoctoral year is $52,500.
