Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The primary responsibility of the IT Programmer Analyst is to support the Campus Mobile application, ensuring its seamless operation. This role also involves supporting various secondary enterprise applications, including but not limited to:


  • ITSM and workflow solutions (TeamDynamix)
  • DocuSign
  • Web portals (SharePoint)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level technical support for commercial enterprise applications and interfaces, including documentation, troubleshooting, development, testing, installation, upgrades, implementation, and analysis.
  • Manage or participate in one or more projects, formulating and developing plans, and documenting the necessary steps to meet stated requirements.
  • Work within content management systems such as MODO and integrate various API and data management solutions.
  • Review plans with management and peers.
  • Assist with the selection and provide technical evaluation of products/tools to ensure proposed solutions adhere to enterprise requirements.
  • Audit user access to systems in accordance with ITS procedures.
  • Keep clients informed of all system updates and ensure updates are fully tested before going live.
  • Coordinate with technical resources as necessary.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of experience or Masters degree with at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience in web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with API integration, data integration or data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) practices.
  • Experience providing technical support and training to end-users.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing content within mobile applications.
  • Enterprise systems maintenance experience for UNCW systems.
  • Development skills experience.
  • Experience with business process improvement.
  • Experience providing administration, support, and upgrades of enterprise applications through their life cycle in a server environment (Linux and Windows).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly and continuous improvement through ongoing professional development.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., FERPA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.

The Department of Enterprise Systems Support is a part of Information Technology Services ( ITS) of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. ITS is an innovative organization committed to providing a technologically progressive environment for students, faculty and staff. The Department of Enterprise Systems Support is responsible for systems analysis, design, programming, and support for enterprise and vendor applications.

The Department of ESS provides:

  • Innovative, stable, cost effective and secure technical support and maintenance of enterprise solutions to the campus community

  • Timely implementation of upgrades and releases
  • Development and analysis to support the operational requirements and mandates for production applications and systems
