Job Description

The Office of Human Resources provides leadership in the planning, integration, and implementation of human resource services and programs for faculty, staff, and retirees across all campuses and the health system. As part of the Shared Administrative Services (SAS) Team, this position provides essential support to daily human resources transactional processing, serving over 50,000 active & separated employees, retirees, beneficiaries and dependents.

Responsibilities
Provide customer service, problem-solving and tier-two support to routine and non-routine inquires related to UM Retiree benefit enrollments, with high focus on retiree Medicare plan support. Provide determination to escalate complex issues to supervisor or other HR subject matter content experts.

  • Review, approve and enter all Retiree Benefit Change Forms, Retiree Annual Enrollment Forms and Newly Medicare-eligible Elections Forms into PeopleSoft.
  • Tier 2 escalation - answer retiree/dependent questions regarding retiree benefit plan offerings, Medicare eligibility, medical and prescription claim assistance for the Medicare Advantage Plan, Retiree Annual Enrollment and other issues and questions involving retiree benefit enrollment.
  • Act as a liaison between the retiree/dependent and the various insurance vendors.
  • Attend monthly meetings with the University's assigned service account manager for the Medicare Advantage plan to discuss all reconciled and ongoing issues.

Responsible for administration of multiple transactional tasks assigned to the Shared Administrative Services Team, ensuring accurate processing in a timely manner and attention to detail. The ability to research policies and utilize available resources for information to complete data verification is essential.

  • Create and mail letters weekly to recently separated employees regarding retirement funds.
  • Process incoming forms from retirees requesting personal information updates (address, name).
  • Assist with imaging and record retention process for benefit and retirement related documents within the Preceptive Content imaging system. Ensure documents received from all HR teams are correctly identified, linked and routed to workflows and employee files in a timely manner.
  • Assist with form approval process related to the tuition assistance program.
  • Monitor and reply to incoming email inquiries in shared resource account inbox via Microsoft Outlook.

Reporting/File Maintenance

  • Review and correct errors received on multiple weekly member eligibility and discrepancy reports received from vendors, HRIS and Data Analytics team to ensure accurate benefit enrollments.
  • Review retiree enrollment reports and initiate ongoing communication with eligible members to ensure timely enrollment, the return of needed documentation and continued Medicare plan eligibility.

Communications

  • On a monthly basis, create and mail retiree benefit change packets to all retirees and/or dependents who become Medicare eligible either by age or disability. Track form receipt and create additional reminder communication, if necessary.
  • Update and maintain all retiree paper benefit enrollment forms.
  • Provide Medicare Advantage updates, communications and any additional trainings to HR Service Center Team as needed.
  • Review and update Total Rewards Retiree webpages as needed, but at least annually.
  • Assist with coordination of the yearly annual enrollment communications and files.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of the University of Missouri.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

An Associate's degree and three years of human resources office experience demonstrating knowledge of basic employment laws, exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Excel spreadsheet skills, attention to detail, accuracy and ability to follow through independently.

Team player with interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Works autonomously and uses sound judgment.

Familiarity with university systems and human resources policies or equivalent is helpful.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
Grade: GGS 008
