Job Summary

Truck Drivers, are assigned under the Receiving Unit operations: Monday thru Friday between the hours of 4:00a.m. to10:00p.m. With designated Flex Drivers working on the weekends from 8:00am to 4:30p.m. The Truck Drivers will transport miscellaneous cargo from the UCSF Medical Center Health Care Material Management Receiving Loading Dock Area, Parnassus Campus to various UCSF Medical Center locations. This position covers a 7 day/40-hour work week. Five shifts may be rotated. Individuals may be called on to work overtime on an as needed basis. The following shifts are: 4a.m. to 12:30p.m, 1:30p.m. to 10: 00p.m, 8a.m. to 4:30p.m. 10a.m. to 6:30p.m. 7a.m. to 3:30p.m. Driver(s) assigned to the weekend 8:00a.m. shift will report to Materiel Services' Supply & Distribution supervisor or lead by 9:00a.m. After performing his/her regular delivering of medical/surgical supplies to off-site department. Driver(s) working any on the weekends and or holiday is under the supervision of the Materiel Services' Supply & Distribution.

Drivers under the supervision of Materiel Services' Supply & Distribution will perform the daily work operations inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

* Transporting beds from the Garden Street Warehouse at 2375 Post St. SF. to Mt. Zion and Parnassus nursing floors, and removing beds from their location for inter campus transport;
* Picking up and delivering medication from Pharmacy to requisition department and or other UCSF campus locations, picking up equipment from the "P" warehouse,
* Assisting Supply and Distribution staff performing their tasks if needed.
* Assist Linen staff removing soiled linen bags from chute area.
* Transport food pallets, carts, totes, boxes, cases, medical gas tanks, linen, patient beds, medication and miscellaneous cargo from Parnassus, Mt Zion, Mission Bay to various UCSF Medical Center locations and offsite offices and clinics. When required deliver all orders to the delivery address shown on each order and obtain a signed receipt.

* Palletize, load and secure shipment for transport.
* Verify that all shipment has all necessary documents for identification.

Drivers are responsible for maintaining all required traffic and truck driving records such as vehicle logs, manifest, scheduled trips and deliveries. Maintain assigned truck: sweep and mop bed (daily) and cab, clean windows, and provide general inspection such as gas, brakes, lights, and safety equipment before using truck. Secure truck and cellular phone at all times.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $30.09 - $40.51 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

a) High School graduate or equivalent; ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
b) Proven ability to safely operate 24' bobtail truck.
c) Applicant must have an excellent driving record. Must provide DMV print out.
d) Able to manually lift 100 lbs. To perform the tasks listed above.
e) Experience in operating a powered and non-powered material handling equipment, which require skill in handling materials and supplies to perform the tasks required.
f) This is a sensitive position requiring finger printing and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

a) An excellent driving record. Must provide DMV print out.
b) A minimum of 2 years experience driving a 24 feet bobtail truck.
c) A minimum of 1-year experience in a linen distribution.
d) Ability to perform task productively without supervision.

License/Certification

California driver license (CDL).
