Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Clinical Outreach (SDCO) is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Clinical Outreach Coordinators, Directors, and Regional Directors, within their assigned region, to service existing clients as well identifying new referral sources and partners in treatment for Newport Healthcare. The SDCO will work closely within the Newport Healthcare network of residential and outpatient treatment centers to develop strategies to attract and serve those clients and will be responsible for driving the overall performance, management, and compliance of assigned Clinical Outreach representatives. This position will present Clinical Outreach services to decision makers and negotiate contracts for services, serve as key liaisons between leadership by referring partners and assigned Clinical Outreach team to improve the overall process and performance experience of associated facilities, and positively represent Newport Healthcare in the behavioral health community by cultivating relationships to attract business opportunities and foster strategic partnerships.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high functioning field-based clinical outreach team, hire and retain top-level talent within assigned region, and work with the VP of Clinical Outreach to onboard, train, and develop their team members.
  • Develop marketing and business development plans with the facilities to attract and service clients in need and work with team to develop messaging, customize presentations to a target audience, and present in meetings geared to creating an awareness of Newport Healthcare's services.
  • Identify decision makers in the target markets, reach out to establish relationships within the behavioral healthcare community, work with Referral Relations/Discharge Planning team members and Clinical Outreach representative to negotiate and secure partnerships, attend and participate in select conferences where opportunity exists to market Newport Healthcare's services, and remain current on behavioral healthcare industry developments/trends and assigned states regulations.
  • Conduct field sessions with each Clinical Outreach team member quarterly to drive performance, enhance skills, and support efforts.
  • Complete face-to-face trust-building meetings with decision makers to understand customer's needs and identify/eliminate obstacles to securing ongoing partnerships.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Clinical Outreach team member on facility or customer service issues.
  • Integrate/work alongside operations, clinical, and admissions leadership to improve access to and delivery of care and serve as a resource and point of guidance to others in leadership positions.
  • Respond immediately to service and referral inquiries from their team or directly when applicable.
  • Ensure all administrative duties are completed, timely, and documented, including managing team budget, activities, performance, and communication.
  • Participate in business development team meetings and assigned projects and meet monthly business development goals.
  • Assist with client assessments if the Clinical Outreach team member has a current up to date license. The Clinical Outreach team member will not have the authority to clear clients for admission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, social services, or education required.
  • Master's degree in business, social services, or education preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience driving business results in a healthcare position preferred; experience in behavioral health preferred.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, lead, manage, and drive business results through others required.
