The HME Liaison is responsible for receipt, qualification, and processing of referrals received on-site from referral source. Ensure all data elements are present prior to processing. Exceed the expectations for customers and managers. Provide service to internal and external customers ensuring adequate information is received in a complete, courteous, and compliant manner. Respond to customer inquiries and follow through for completion. Complete distribution of equipment - including instruction for use and reimbursement for services rendered. Function as a liaison to sustain and grow services within designated facility.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent



Knowledge:




  • medical terminology, preferred
  • billing
  • customer service principals and service expectations



Skills:




  • Effectively and professionally communicate/interact with customers, personnel, and referral sources
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal, face to face, & written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and follow through orders for completion
  • Detailed oriented, organized & able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work as member of a team, solve problems and work on many projects at once, with deadlines
  • Accurate data entry



Work Experience:




  • 1 year of customer service required; durable medical equipment knowledge preferred
  • Experience in health care field, preferred



Working Conditions:




  • This position is located in a hospital setting which includes entering patient rooms, working on nursing units, and significant walking between nursing units and building.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
  • Requires lifting and carrying of medical equipment such as infusion pumps, portable oxygen tanks, or walkers.
  • Climbing stairs
  • Frequently requires reaching, grasping, handling of products and equipment
  • Mobility
  • Flexibility around patients
  • Ability to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.

Salary Range: Minimum 16.34 per hour - Maximum 26.94 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
