Position Summary

The Webster and Litvak Labs at the University of New Mexico jointly seek applications for a sensor technician with the title of Research Scientist 3. The position will support the establishment of a new research program studying carbon cycling in Rio Grande riparian forests.

We are looking for a motivated and organized person with a background in biology and sensor technology to join our team. This position will be based at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's in biological sciences or closely related field
2. Extensive experience with biological instruments in in-situ settings, including building custom electronic hardware
3. Experience with installing and sampling from groundwater wells
4. Excellent English verbal communication skills
