Overview
Performs unarmed, uniformed security related services which include but are not limited to; Conducts rounds, secures the facility and the work environment for Mercyhealth partners. Respond to all security calls for assistance relating to partners, patients, and visitors. May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts, and weekends. Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education and Experience EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required Healthcare security experience preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience with police, security, or military background Successful completion of all department required training such as Level 3 TACT training, handcuffing, OC spray, ASP baton, and physical control tactics training, etc. required within 12 months for new hires. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis. OR Completed 30 credit hours toward obtaining a degree Successful completion of all department required training such as Level 3 TACT training, handcuffing, OC spray, ASP baton, and physical control tactics training, etc. required within 12 months for new hires. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis. OR One year with Mercyhealth security Successful completion of all department required training such as Level 3 TACT training, handcuffing, OC spray, ASP baton, and physical control tactics training, etc. required. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis. Certification/Licensure CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Maintain a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR-01 Fleet Safety Policy Successful completion of International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Security officer certification within 135 days of start date. Special Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, distinguish color and ability to adjust focus. These Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without accommodations.
