People Analytics & Systems Engineer

Job Summary

The Engineer, People Analytics & Systems drives organizational success by optimizing Human Resource analytics and connecting decision-makers to critical data. This role focuses on building and maintaining efficient and efficient HR systems, integrations, and reporting tools that support key HR functions, including Associate Experience, Benefits, Compensation, Belonging, HR Operations, and Learning & Development.

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Design, develop, and test custom data engineering solutions, including extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, scripts, applications for enterprise data warehouses (EDW), servers, and HR systems.
  • Support and enhance existing ETL applications, including Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, Linux scripts, and Python programs.
  • Collaborate with users and analysts to develop dashboards, reports, and self-service data tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical and business processes and maintain process documentation.
  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of HR systems, including the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Onboarding, Learning & Development tools, Performance Management system, and the Core HR system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with system integrations, data feeds, and reporting tools while maintaining working knowledge of system integrations and related documentation.
What we need from you:
  • 2+ years of experience in information technology (IT)-related positions.
  • 1+ years of experience in a system administrator, system engineer, or equivalent role.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Bash.
  • Experience with operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
  • Strong technical support, analytical reporting, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify solutions, and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to independently research and resolve technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing complex technical activities.
What we also value (preferred):
  • Associate degree in an IT related field.
  • Familiarity with IT best practices and security protocols.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting medium to large scale, multi-site, enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with database architecture and data feed technologies.
  • Experience with reporting and business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Tableau or Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI).
  • Experience coordinating with vendors to address technical issues and plan projects.
