Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Clinical Systems Analyst (EMR Specialist) is responsible for all EMRs within the given market utilized by the employed physician practices. This includes but is not limited to: evaluating new practices per established guidelines, maintaining all practice EMRs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures, training of all new physicians and associates, developing training documentation, evaluating the EMR performance of staff and developing additional training as necessary, keeping current with new features and enhancements and training staff accordingly, analyzing and implementing policies and procedures governing all electronic data entry through the employed physician practices, implementing, training and monitoring the Meaningful Use guidelines, and working with physicians on a regular basis to develop better workflows.

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management solution. computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including:
    • Consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications;
    • Analysis, design, development, of educational documentation of operational system and workflow design.
    • System application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate's degree/Technical School/2 Years College required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Work experience:

  • Minimum one year experience with Physician Office business operations or practice management.

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of Physician Office business practices, clinical workflows, concepts and terminology sufficient to implement or support IT applications.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management solution. computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including:
    • Consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications;
    • Analysis, design, development, of educational documentation of operational system and workflow design.
    • System application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.
  • Working knowledge of clinic operational standards and quality methods and metrics.
  • Working knowledge of project management methods.

Skills:

  • Significant experience in clinical workflow using IT Systems.
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.
  • Maintains internal relationships with:
    • Corporate IS personnel, Customer Support Center personnel, Hospital IS support staff, medical group users, physicians or providers, Corporate Quality Management staff, and Corporate financial and/or clinical managers regarding system enhancements, implementation and support issues and tasks.
  • Maintains external relationships with:
  • primary and secondary vendor technical and functional personnel regarding application capabilities and tasks regarding implementation, enhancement, and support.

Abilities:

  • Operate within the concept of patient centered care.

Equipment Operated:

  • Standard office equipment (laptop, computer, calculator, fax, copier, scanner, etc.).

Work environment:

  • Outpatient medical office setting.

Travel Requirements:

  • 0-10% domestic US travel (depending on projects).
