The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architecting and implementing solutions using Adobe Experience Cloud products, and integrating with enterprise systems for a thriving healthcare organization. This candidate should also have excellent communication skills and be a team leader that can speak to and represent the technical capabilities and solution designs of the platform.

Purpose

The AEM Architect will help guide the technical vision of Dell Medical School's Digital Engagement Platform which utilizes Adobe Experience Cloud. The role requires deep technical expertise, leadership, and a strategic mindset to deliver secure, scalable, and future-proof digital experiences. As the AEM/AEP subject matter expert, you will be responsible for helping translate high-level business requirements into robust solutions, big-picture strategies, and technical roadmaps for the platform.

Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

  • Guide the technical vision for AEM and AEP to meet current and future business needs.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members, design, develop, code, and test complex technical solutions across various products like AEM Sites, Assets, Forms, CJA, and Real Time-CDP to fully maximize platform capabilities.

  • Design and implement secure integrations with third-party applications and systems like: ERP, EHR, and scholarly research databases.

  • Address security concerns and data governance requirements with PHI and other sensitive data when connecting AEM with external systems.

  • Configure and manage the AEM platform to support multi-site, multi-channel, and multi-lingual delivery environments.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide oversight, planning, and technical guidance to ensure successful delivery of AEM based projects.

  • Guide developers through complex technical challenges and help coach them on dealing with the intricacies of the platform.

  • Work with developers to establish best practices and optimal strategies when developing headful and headless solutions on the platform.

  • Provide training and resources to the development team to help onboard developers to the platform.

  • Stay updated with the latest features and functionality of AEM and AEP.

Performance Monitoring, & Optimization:

  • Monitor performance of applications and websites and implement optimizations to keep performance in line with expectations.

  • Design caching strategies and optimize content delivery networks.

  • Optimize the use of AEM's Dispatcher for load balancing and failover.

  • Plan for efficient content storage and retrieval.

  • Collaborates with non-technical and cross-functional staff to provide inter-disciplinary technical solutions and to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability of AEM-based solutions.

Technical Documentation

  • Ensure clear, accessible technical documentation for solutions and establish best practices for long-term success.

  • Create detailed architectural documents, user guides, and SOPs for designed solutions.

  • Document configurations, dependencies, and workflows, ensuring that technical solutions are well-understood by all team members.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Relevant experience typically exhibited by a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field. 3 years of extensive experience with architecting solutions using Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Experience Platform products. Significant experience developing components, templates, automated workflows, headless applications, and integrations using Java, HTL, CSS, JavaScript, JCR, Apache Sling Framework, ClientLibs, OSGi and CRXDE Lite. Experience implementing, integrating and developing for the following Adobe Experience Manager and Platform products: AEM sites, Assets, Adobe Target, AEM Forms, Real-time CDP and Customer Journey Analytics. Technical proficiency in architecture, configuration, DevOps, performance optimization, sizing for enterprise applications, CDN, disaster recovery and caching. Experience utilizing AEM/AEP APIs. Experience with current development standards and tools, including version control, automated testing, debugging, issue tracking, documentation, code reviews, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and containers. Knowledge of how to properly handle sensitive data, such as Protected Health Information (PHI), and adhere to HIPAA, FERPA, Common Rule, and other regulations. Knowledge of security standards and best practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 10 years of development experience with at least 5 years of Experience with AEM As a Cloud Service or AEM version 6.x or higher. Experience in medical education, higher education, health care or a related field. Expertise in AEM capabilities including Multi-site manager and blueprinting. Experience with deploying AEM for a large enterprise. Adobe Experience Manager Developer or Architect Certifications. Omnichannel marketing experience and analytics measurement/reporting. Certification in Agile, PMP, or both. Demonstrated experience interacting with university administrators, deans, faculty and staff in providing good client and customer service. Knowledge of web accessibility standards.

Salary Range

$100,000+ depending on qualifications
