SKF Aerospace is a first-tier supplier to the global aviation industry and much more. We design and manufacture complex, high-performance, high-value bearings in steel and advanced ceramics. Our production group, technologies, and products are at the heart of the aerospace industry and the world's leading aircraft jet engine and gearbox manufacturers at our Falconer, NY location.


The Associate Engineering Technician is responsible for manufacturing Marflex Elastomeric Bearings and other bearing development or LRIP projects. The job includes all aspects of successfully manufacturing the bearings to customer requirements including material & supply ordering, schedule management, machining, and final inspection.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform all tasks associated with the manufacture of Marflex bearings including, machining of primary components, elastomer coating, assembly, molding, finish machining and inspection.


  • Manufacture fixtures, molds, gauges and other components used in the manufacture of Marflex products using CNC and manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.


  • Ability to edit CNC programs.


  • Perform all operations necessary in the manufacture of any new development prototypes or LRIP (Low Rate Initial Production) opportunities.


  • Maintain production schedules for the PD&T area


  • Work with purchasing to order materials, tooling, and supplies to achieve on-time deliveries.


  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.


  • Other duties as assigned.





Job Requirements:



  • Associate Degree in Machine Technology and/or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of CNC machining experience.


  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, CAD, etc.)


  • Good organizational skills, 5S/Lean manufacturing knowledge


  • Experience working within an ISO certified environment is a plus.


  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork with the ability to share ideas and knowledge


  • Must be a self-motivated person capable of achieving goals with minimal direction or supervision.
