Your Impact

Onshape's Product Management team is responsible for defining the strategy, priority and roadmap for the product. Additionally, Product Managers are involved right throughout the development process, sitting on project teams, liaising with key customers, ensuring the new features will meet requirements and exceed expectations. The Teams uses data gathered from a multiple array of sources, including direct customer/prospect interviews, industry research, product telemetry, and competitive analysis in order to inform and guide the decisions, in addition to their own industrial, engineering and software development experience.

Your Team

As an intern, you are given the opportunity to work on market research, road mapping and planning/execution of key new features, particularly in the Industrial Design/Product Design area. You will be working alongside other Product Managers who will help guide you in the research, data gathering/dissemination and analysis as we continue to build out our product capabilities. Onshape is planned and developed using an Agile development approach, so things move fast, decisions need to get made and plans need to be up to date.

Your Day-to-Day:

Communicating with members of PM to fully understand the tools and methods used to gather the appropriate data. Sharing preliminary findings via presentations and mockups. Build proofs of concept/working prototypes using Onshape's FeatureScript programming language in order to demonstrate/test ideas.

Meeting online with various stakeholders, including customers to discuss requirements. Meeting development, UX, and QA teams in order to communicate requirements, and participate in projects as they are developed into features.

Basic Qualifications:

Strong background and interest in Industrial Design, aesthetic product design, surface model building, and photorealistic rendering. Strong CAD background - including Industrial Design (CAID) software. Some experience with scripted programming languages like Python, JavaScript etc. to build working prototypes in Onshape. Excellent problem solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
